Samantha Embry was drawn to the practice of law at a very early age, and her father often declared she was going to be the first attorney in the family. She grew up in the small town of Lincoln, Alabama, and obtained her bachelor’s degree in English from Alabama State University before attending Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School.
Her attraction to law was solidified in her early twenties when she won as a pro se litigant against an apartment complex that wrongfully withheld her security deposit. At the hearing, Samantha observed others who had valid cases but were unable to properly articulate their arguments, and, as a result, weren’t able to obtain favorable results. She knew then that she wanted to give people a voice when they couldn’t find the words.
Samantha’s approach is to listen intently with the goal to obtain complete understanding and respond appropriately in an effort to get the best outcome for her clients. She diligently strives to understand her clients’ needs and what matters most to them in the attorney/client relationship. Additionally, she takes opportunities, where appropriate, to encourage and maintain a positive attitude. Her diplomatic, fair, and friendly approach makes her great at her job, and she possesses the key legal skills of critical thinking and intuition which has contributed to her career success.
Samantha was admitted to the Georgia Bar in 2018. She is a member of the Family Law Section of the Georgia Bar, the Georgia Association of Black Women Attorneys, the Georgia Association of Women Lawyers, and the Atlanta Bar Association.
Samantha believes in giving back when and where she can. Some of her community involvement has included doing pro bono work for the Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation and assisting women who are in domestic violence situations obtain temporary restraining orders.
Outside of the office, Samantha’s hobbies include baking, gardening, and softball. She is a working mom of three children, one of whom is in college at Howard University. She also enjoys good music and movies.
